Effective leaders understand tactics may change, but principles stay the same.
Dealing with uncertainty is a way of life and a rapidly changing world requires leaders in any situation to adapt and grow. For many, this leads to anxiety as they struggle to find comfort ‘living in the grey.’
I’ve had to change my approach (tactics), often dramatically, countless times in order to meet the needs of the moment, my team, or our business. What doesn’t change are the key understandings (principles) of what matters, and why.
Recognizing this difference is what helps me weather ferocious and chaotic storms of change. The knowledge that I stand upon solid ground allows me to step past my ego, find the calm, and lead.
